I've been racing ahead while my time is flexible.
I don't have feedback from anyone yet, and only krazee3k has signed up.
Without feedback, I'll have to go on the assumption that my suggestions are useful, not overbearing; and that the communication structure here is still desirable, comfortable, and appropriate.
If no one suggests alternatives for any of the guidelines I've suggested within a couple weeks, I think we will also have to go on the presumption that those guidelines have been adopted, otherwise we can not complete this project in a timely manner.
I would like to know if people are following this material, and are simply waiting for 'me' to provide a complete specification, or if people simply haven't had time to follow or think about the project yet.
It would be helpful for me to know what people want to do or can do. If no one has experience with javascript, for instance, then i shouldn't even be thinking in that direction.
This ambitious project well exceeds the scope of class requirements and purpose. I venture to imagine that if someone simply tested the app or wrote a couple functions, that their grade would be assured. However, if I am left on my own to complete a project, I don't expect to have time to complete more than the online chess program I mentioned. 'Participation', I'm sure, is why this assignment was created. I consider it to be a further opportunity for testing the 'collaborative development' paradigm. Thus far, it hasn't been too collaborative, but then perhaps no one expected to participate in the first week.
